1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two situations: when you submit a form on this site, and automatically through analytics when you browse.

Form submissions. When you use the Add Your Store or Contact forms, we collect the information you type in — your name, email address, and the details you provide about your store or inquiry. We only collect what you give us.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymized data like page views, which pages are visited, and general traffic sources. It does not collect personally identifiable information. No names, emails, or physical locations are recorded.

No accounts or cookies. We do not have user accounts or logins. We do not set any cookies beyond what Google Analytics requires for session tracking.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Store submissions are used to review your listing and add it to the directory. We may follow up by email if we have questions about the information you submitted.
  • Contact form messages are used to respond to your inquiry. We keep a record of the conversation for context in case you follow up.
  • Analytics data helps us understand which cities and pages are most useful, so we can improve the directory.
  • We do not sell your data to anyone, ever. We do not share your information with third parties except the services listed below that are necessary to operate the site.

3. Third-Party Services

Running this site requires a few outside services. Here's what each one handles:

  • Formspree processes form submissions and delivers them to us by email. Your form data passes through their servers. See formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy for their policy.
  • Google Analytics collects anonymized traffic data. No personal information is sent to Google through our analytics setup.
  • Vercel hosts the site and serves pages globally through their CDN. Standard server logs (IP address, request time) may be retained briefly per their infrastructure defaults.
  • Airtable stores the listing database and form submission data for internal use. It is not accessible to the public.

4. Data Retention

Form submissions (store submissions and contact messages) are retained for up to 12 months from the date received. After that, we delete them unless there is an ongoing business relationship (for example, a store with a paid featured placement).

If you would like your submission deleted sooner, contact us using the form at /contact and we will remove it within 14 days.

5. Your Rights

You can:

  • Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that we delete your data.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.

To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form at /contact. We will respond within 14 days.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively change how we handle data that was already collected under a previous version of this policy.
